Getting Ready to Go

Usually I post experiences from my trips on a regular day-to-day basis on my home-blog http://nifer-jen.blogspot.com/, but this is a singularly different type of trip compared to any I've taken before; it's almost a mini-education for me, and I'd like to have easy access.

Besides day-trips, I've never gone anywhere alone, especially for my own purpose. There has always been some event (usually with band) that led me to go. This will be a week of history and heritage, personally meaningful to me. It is pretty much only a sight-seeing trip except for a couple very brief visits with friends.

I wish I had done something like this for my China trip in 2008, since most of the posts were published after the fact, catching up from my journal. It may very well be the same for this trip, since I have so solidly packed my schedule. The plan (at least for now) is to post a favorite daily picture or set of pictures on each day in real time, and then to follow up with paragraphs in new posts later on.

I've been planning this trip since February this year, and just today I bought the final ticket for an attraction along the way, and just last night purchased the final hotel room. I suppose that is why I thought to create this blog today.

So the PLAN is complete, Lord willing. I've got drive times, addresses, phone numbers, costs, open hours, reservations, flights, and a car all written down and reserved. All that is left is to plan what to pack, and then wait the final few days. I am so grateful for this opportunity and blessing. Praise the Lord for his goodness!
